The fantastic kmks kit.

I promised my KMKS pal that I would post a picture of her superfantastic kit she sent me, but I've been a little busy (what else is new?)
Yesterday (Friday) morning I had a job interview that I am VERY excited about. So much so that I'm not going to post about it until I hear back. And then there will be either jubilation or despair. Heh. Also, Richard has spent the last couple of days switching this from a Windows computer to a Linux computer. No, I don't really know what that means - I have to learn how to use a slightly different OS, and apparently this thing will be better on memory and speed. Other than that, as long as everything works (mostly) I don't really care...

This is the wonderful kit I got from Lyndsey-Jane at My Knitting and Me. My favourite part is the felted basket in purple and lime green (one of my favourite colour combinations!) In the card she sent, Lyndsey-Jane said "I chose nice bright colours for you" and she hit the nail on the head. Gorgeous yarn! Gorgeous bag! The pattern is this one for cabled mittens from Cherry Tree Hill supersock yarn. Which is what she sent me! I'm so excited to try this yarn. I rarely splurge on handpainted sock yarn, so this is a real treat. If you squint really hard and look near the bottom part of the picture, you'll see she also sent me some birch double points and cable needles, as well as some cutie pie mitten and snowball stitch markers that have already been put to use. And don't forget the warshcloth! And because she enclosed some divine smelling soap, the whole package was nice and lavendar-y.

Here's a closeup of the yarn. And just for the record: this is the first yarn that Richard has ever tried to hijack! He saw the wonderful autumn colours and immediately tried to call dibs on the yarn for socks. Haha, Richard. Too bad. It's gift yarn and I'm morally obliged to use it for something for myself.
Thank you Lyndsey-Jane!

(Oh yes, and since I am a bit of a flake, I forgot to take a picture of the kit I sent to Christina. Good thing she took one. click to see.)

That yarn is gorgeous. I would be trying to call dibs on it too if I could.

I really like the basket too. So cute.

Your package looks like lots of fun!
Linux is really great once you learn a bit about it. It's really secure and good for older computers. Do you know which distribution you've switched to?
Good luck with the interview :)
