Dye-o-rama!
Last week I mentioned that I got my butt in gear (to quote my dad) and did a little dyeing for the dye-o-rama swap that I joined.
I thought I'd give Eunny's self-striping yarn a try, and because I am always the lazy, lazy, corner-cutter, I just used her 32-inch row measurement instead of doing it myself. Heh. And I used a pair of chairs instead of a pair of lamps.

I used Club House food colouring from the baking aisle (did you know it comes in NEON colours?). Our local grocery stores have quite a limited selection of koolaid or other drink mixes.
I know my swap pal doesn't like pink or purple, but she likes blues and greens, and mentioned yellow and orange as good colours, too. This is a little challenging for the queen of clashing brights. I hope that orange-y red is okay....
Like the setup? Because I used food colouring, I just did it in a pot with 2 jars to keep the three colours separate. As you can see, one colour is directly in the pot!
Hanging to dry in the Cheel family front yard. The colours will (theoretically) give equal stripes of lime greeen, red, lime green again, and then a wider stripe of bluey-green.
Wound into a centre-pull ball. (By hand, of course. I don't have any fancy gadgets, but a friend I once worked with showed me how, and it's failry speedy and works well). The colours in this picture are not entirely accurate-- the blue green is a little greener, and more intense.
I enjoyed this project, but I am petrified to send it. I'm really worried that since I liked the way this yarn came out so much, my pal won't! Do I try with something else? Do I send this anyhow and the heck with it? Ack Ack Ack!
