Too Lazy to Move...
...So I'm taking the picture right here where I'm sitting.
I am still in love with this Fleece Artist merino sock yarn. I love the feel of it, I love the colour, and I will wear these socks into the ground.
If you look at my previous post, you can see the stitch pattern for the pomatomus socks more clearly. Also clearly, I had no problem with second sock syndrome with these gorgeous numbers. The yarn and the pattern were so nice together!
The shop where I get most of my 'nice' yarn, LK Yarn, has had oodles of Fleece Artist seconds the last few times I've been in there. They seeem to be either underweight skeins, experimental colourways, imperfect dye jobs, or as in the case of this yarn, the ONLY thing wrong with it were 2 knots and a couple (3-4) slubby spots. But really, I'm cheap enough that I'll take the discount and deal with the slubs. I guess the cat is out of the bag now though, and the next time I go back all you vultures will have gotten the good stuff. (Which is everything. I spend 10-15 minutes digging through these bins each time I go there. The colours! The textures! The smells! What, like you've never smelled yarn you're buying?)
Pomatomuses (pomatomi?) in repose. As you can see, I am reading blogs at the computer desk. The tablecloth on the desk was embroidered and trimmed with crochet by my grandmother - I choose to use it rather than hide it away because that's what it's meant for.

I don't think that the tank for me will ever get off the ground, or at least not this year. It's already getting quite cool at night, and even midday carries the nip of fall in the air. (Especially on rainy days like today!)
I've been working on my Peacock Feathers shawl. This is perhaps the most complicated lace pattern I've done to date - there isn't an easy pattern repeat to memorize, so each lace row need attention, though it'still all purl on 'back' rows.
And the baby sweater is still waiting to be seamed. I hate that part - it's so finicky and long. Also, I forgot to wash the pieces when I did laundry yesterday. Maybe that should come first! (Convenient, that.)
New job starts Friday. Nervous and excited. Reminds me, I must go buy bus tickets- there's no way I'm driving downtown every day.
