As Promised...

how you doin'?

This picture doesn't do the colour justice: I really need to convince Richard to take a picture of me in sunlight, because I clearly have difficulty capturing my entire head if I take the picture myself. Anyhow, the colour is supposed to be fuschia, but is already fading a little bit (probably good, considering my boss' reaction was "well... it's not offensive") and I really like the darker colour it's turning out to be. I kept it streaky and most intense just at the front, so if I get a job interview or something it can be styled down and forward and just look like I dye my hair red. And really, this colour is no more unnatural on me than blonde anyhow.
This is the first time ever that a hair dye has been visible on my hair out of direct sunlight, and even if I just let this grow out an never do it again, it's good to know it's possible. L'Oreal Colour Rays.
I wish I had had the nerve to do this five years ago.

In knitting news, I just realized that it's the middle of July and I need to get my rear in gear if I actually want to knit and wear something summery. To that end I've started knitting Veronik Avery's Prairie Tunic from Interweave Knits Spring 2006 magazine. (If you click on the link, scroll down about 1/2way to see the top.) I'm using a cotton/acrylic blend tape yarn that I reclaimed from a Value Village old lady knit short-sleeve top. (You know the kind I mean). When I get some new batteries in this cranky old camera I will post some pictures. Ditto the Knit Sock Kit Swap thingy, which has progressed to tote bag mark II as well as zippy pouch mark III (zippy pouch mark II went to live with Meghan and her BSB buttons, but I totally forgot to take a picture of it. Take my word for it, very cute, very Meghan.)

your hair looks awesome!
after various incidents with hair dye (professional and home...) I've given up on it so it's fun to see it work for people :)
